About Special Testing Laboratories, Inc.

Special Testing Laboratories, Inc. has been in business for over thirty years throughout which time, we have been involved in construction projects of all sizes. As a result, we have become proficient in all of the test methods, building codes, and general site conditions that today’s construction projects require.

Based on our accreditation by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP, Lab Code 100308-0), we are qualified to offer Materials Testing Services within the local regulations, and we have structured our services around the industry’s requirements. Our inspection program not only provides our clients with accurate and up-to-date certified testing methods, but also allows them to control the cost of the program directly though scheduling with our office.

Our firm is composed of field and laboratory staff that have been trained and certified in all relevant aspects of the construction industry, and most of whom have been with our firm for many years.  All employees follow the same strict guidelines for safety and certification in an effort to provide the most efficient and effective inspection program to our clients.

Our Facilities

Our 10,000 square foot facility is equipped with state-of-the-art, NIST-certified (National Institute of Standards and Technology) equipment for conducting soils, concrete, masonry, steel, and fireproofing tests and analyses.

With the requirements of today’s construction industry, local building codes have evolved to become more rigorous. In order to provide our clients with the best possible service, our equipment and staff are audited on a bi-annual basis through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP, Lab Code 100308-0). STL also volunteers and maintains membership with the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL), a proficiency testing program designed to specifically improve the accuracy of testing laboratories across the country.
